Febirdary 2018

This year I had a go at participating in 'Febirdary'. It's a bit like Inktober, only in February, and with birds. It's an event set up by Virginia Greene in 2016 as 'Decembird', but Decembird 2017 was unfortunately skipped, and as such moved to February this year and renamed. Like Inktober it's all informal; there is no real pressure for completing a drawing every day, or to finish the month in full. And although prompts are given for every day, you're just as free to deviate.

Unfortunately I only completed 11 entries before I had to abandon the project. It was a wonderful opportunity to draw some strange birds, learn new things, and try out my coloured pencils again. In the comments you'll find the descriptions that originally accompanied the drawings.

Some of these guys are for sale! Numbers 1, 2, and 8 are still available. They're going for €30 a piece ($37 USD), and can be shipped worldwide at the expense of the buyer. All are made with coloured pencil (#8 also with fineliner) on brown toned A5 paper, so 14,8 x 21 cm. Please note me if you're interested!
