OMG. OMG! OMFG! :iconeeeeeplz:

I'm so freakin' pleased, happy and superexcited about this drawing! It's my first digital drawing I'm really happy with, and then I mean REALY happy. :w00t:

I have used absolutely zero reference and I'm amazingly proud of it.

WOW!!! :jawdrop:
This is fantastic! I don't even know where to start! I LOVE the angle that you chose... it is difficult even with a reference, and the fact that you did this without a reference is freaking awesome!!! The shading on the dolphin is very good, I especially like the shiny bits.
I also like the simple background... you made great use of the cloud brushes, and I really like the way you added in the sun. :D

I can totally tell by looking at this that you were excited about it... it shows! I seriously cannot wait to see what you do next! :eager:

OMG! AELIA! THAN YOU! :iconhyperglompplz: (don't ask me why I wrote that all with capital letters :XD:)

I'm still not sure if the dolphin is (anatomically) correct because there still seems to be something... odd about it. Though, I really like it, and I'm glad you (such an awesome artist yourself) also likes it :w00t: The shinies were awesome to do *.* Oehh, shiny!

I think I deliberately chose to do such a simple background because I'm ususally very bad at them ^^;

Thank you so much for this lovely comment, it totally makes me want to draw another digital drawing!

Wow! This is definitely some of your best work yet. I am completely blown away with how great of a job you did. I like how the dolphin has a glossy look as if it has a coating of water over it, very nice and realistic. I like the whole concept with the high jump and blue sky with clouds because I am fascinated with dolphin jumps. Great job! :wow:

Anyways, you know how much I appreciate your comments, especially one like this one  Yay for glossy and shiny dolphins! It was actually one of the most fun things to do ;P And dolphins jumping are always interesting

No. Way. In. HELL. THATS A PAINTING DONE BY SOMEONE MY AGE! THATS SIMPLY AMAZING. I THOUGHT IT WAS A PHOTOGRAPH! No referance too?! The colours are stunningly realistic and that anatomy! -gasp- I long so much for that skill in anatomy <33

Amazing job, I'd be excited too if I were you! -runs back over to desk to do several scetches of your lovely dolphin right here in hope of getting the nack of anatomy-

Yeah, I know! I was starting it with the idea to simply draw a jumping dolphin from a low-angle view. Nothing special, just to try photoshop out. I did get the basic 3/4 colours for the complete painting (3 for the dolphin and 1 for the sky) from real photos, but I don't think you could consider that true references.

I'm also really happy with anatomy here :D And I hope those sketches will come out cool, maybe you can colour some/one and then post it here? :meow:

That would make sense, I always use photos to help with my swatches (thats why I have so many :XD:)

I can if I can find one good enough, they're all either too thin, stumpy or stretched out xD I'll get there :)

:XD: Ah, photos are the second best way to learn to draw cetaceans. The best way is to just sit down next to a viewing glass and draw :D

You'll get it right.

Eventually ;P

Urgh, I just wish I could! x__x but I live in the UK, we have a strict ban against captive dolphins (which is a good think really) and its WAY too expencive to travel.

Sounds stupid but I'm REALLY going to try for a job in marine rescue, they do some courses quite locally to me and I'd love to help a cetacean in need :') So maybe I could get my anatomy from that

Ah man. I know dolphins do belong in the wild, though it's sometimes so cool to visit them, especially when they have natural environment to live in like in the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk.

That does NOT sound stupid! That's even amazing! So cool you're going to help poor little dolphins, seals and other animals. I'm sure if you have rescued some animals, the cetacean-sence will come to you. Because every cetacean has it himself, so when you visit them, they always give you a little bit of the cetacean-sence :)
